This beautiful Double Twist with Koru Pounamu Pendant has been carved from New Zealand pounamu (greenstone/ jade) by Moreton carvers based in Hokitika, South Island.

The multiple twist represents the joining together of people and cultures for eternity. Despite the highs and lows they remain bonded by friendship and loyalty for life.

The koru shape is based on the unfurling fern frond symbolising new growth, new life, peace and tranquillity.

Pounamu is the Māori name for greenstone or nephrite jade which is only found in the South Island. It is an extremely tough material and is said to absorb the owners essential spirit, feeding it back to them and enhancing their strength.
